Monday, May 21, 2018 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Location: 35230 W 135th St., Olathe, KS 66061
Description: The right tools can make all the difference in successful market farming. Join the Growing Growers program for a workshop and field day at the expansive K-State Olathe Horticulture Research and Extension Center. We will explore a vast array of farming equipment for small and medium-sized farms including field preparation, planting, cultivation, harvesting and drip irrigation systems. We'll help you put together a wish list of must-have tools; and provide a general overview of equipment maintenance, design and modification; as well as discuss big-picture infrastructure design.

‚ÄčThis workshop will be hands-on. Weather permitting, attendees will have a chance to operate farm equipment as we demonstrate how to turn over a spring crop, prepare beds and plant melons in a high tunnel.
