Cultivate KC partners with Dotte Mobile Grocer
Cultivate KC is proud to be a new member of the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition. NSAC is an alliance of over 130 organizations that advances common positions to expand opportunities for the next generation of farmers, protect natural resources, invest in local and regional economies, and scale agricultural research efforts to build a more sustainable food and farming system. NSAC’s policy team, in collaboration with Cultivate KC, has written a pathway for the 2023 Farm Bill.
This Farm Bill Platform is a foundation for positive food systems change. We are meeting with members of Congress to share this message- the 2023 Farm Bill needs to prioritize:
We will specifically focus on amplifying the call for additional investment in the USDA Office of Urban Agriculture, improving land and capital access opportunities and ensuring priority access and support for BIPOC farmers, sustaining investments in local and regional food system technical assistance, continuing to improve implementation of the Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program, and expanding funding for nutrition incentive programs such as Double Up Food Bucks, produce prescription programs, and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
Can we count on you to join us? Sign on as an endorser of the NSAC platform, and show Congress that thousands of families, farmers, and advocates around the country deserve a better food and farm future. If you’re interested in getting more engaged, join us at the 2023 Annual Farmers & Friends Meeting to learn more and start acting collectively.
