Summer Lettuce Project at JGTF
School is out, summer is slowly creeping around the corner, and yet the mornings are still cool and crisp. KC area farmer’s markets and farm stands burst with bok choy, radishes, spring onions, and lettuce, all waiting patiently to be purchased for a special gathering or a simple lunch. It’s that time of year again, and there’s no better way to celebrate Kansas City’s diverse and bountiful foodscape than by grabbing your favorite cloth bag and heading out the door to pick up your 2025 KC Farmers Market Passport today!
This adorable little booklet can be found at any one of the eighteen farmers markets and farm stands featured within its pages. Visitors can explore market destinations from Liberty to Lees Summit, all the way to Bonner Springs with over a dozen others in between, earning prizes to be redeemed at local businesses for every four locations they receive a stamp at. Much like the experience gained from another kind of passport, our hope is that every visitor savors the blessing that is community, interacting along the way with the real-life folks ensuring that delicious, healthy food remains abundant and accessible, and supporting these individuals as they work tirelessly to feed our families and their own in the process.
