Field Day at George Washington Carver Farm!

Join us for a Field Day at George Washington Carver Farm! 

GWC Farm is a small farm on the east side of Kansas City, Missouri where they grow fruits and vegetables for their neighborhood and city. The 2/3 acre site was neglected for decades after the demolition of the homes built there. They aim to restore this small bit of land to be a thriving and integral part of their neighborhood’s source of food, community, and healing.

Jason from GWC Farm will lead a tour of the site that features a new cold storage system utilizing Cool Bot technology. Mark Gawron, Westport Commons Farm Program Manager at Cultivate KC, will also discuss other cold storage options for metro farms. 

Attendees will leave the event with a better understanding of what cold storage options might work best for their growing spaces.
