Find Your Market: Wholesale

This event series is hosted in collaboration by Cultivate KC and the KC F.A.R.M.E.R.S. Coalition.

The Find Your Market series is geared toward beginning farmers who are looking for right kind of sales channel for their farm and want to explore their options. Each free session will explore the dynamics of a particular sales channel in the KC area, offer practical advice for beginning farmers, discuss benefits & drawbacks, and feature farmer perspectives.

The second session will explore wholesale. Farmers who participate in a range of wholesale channels will present their experience with restaurant, grocery, and aggregate distribution wholesalers. Presentations will cover:

• Building and maintaining relationships

• Production planning 

• Logistics

• Food safety

• Pros and cons of different wholesale channels
