Urbavore Urban Farm and their sister business, Compost Collective, recently received four violations from the City of KCMO based on ongoing complaints by a few neighbors. The violations contradict approval they have already received for their compost operation, present costly issues to correct, and threaten the viability of urban farm stands throughout Kansas City. Brooke and Dan of Urbavore invite you to a casual potluck this Sunday, June 11th from 3 to 6 pm to connect with Kansas City growers and discuss obstacles and ideas to improve city zoning and policy for a more climate resilient, food-secure city. Kids are welcome! This will be casual, messy, and fun, complete with a trampoline, a fire pit, and pigs!! What more could you want?
RSVP by emailing brooke@urbavorefarm.com. Bring a dish to share if you are able, as well as your own eating utensils and plates. This is a ZERO WASTE potluck. They’ll have compost bins on site.
