Strawberry Production Workshop

Longfellow Farm Workshop Series

Cultivate KC is teaming up with Longfellow Farm this summer to continue some work from our former Westport Commons Farm site which was supported by a USDA Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production grant. Through September, Cultivate KC will provide on-farm production support, host monthly hands-on workshops for the community, and will facilitate building a washstand and chicken coop on the community farm. Excess produce from this site will be donated to community partners. 

Did you know fall is an ideal time to plant strawberries for a successful harvest the next spring? During this workshop, Mark Gawron will cover various aspects of growing strawberries, from initial planning to successful harvesting. During the hands-on workshop, participants will plant strawberries while also learning about different production systems using organic growing methods. 

Registration is free but required.
