What is the program?

The Missouri Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (MoSFMNP) provides funds to low-income seniors (individuals who are at least 60 years old and have a household income of less than 185% federal poverty income level) to purchase eligible foods from an approved vendor at a farmers’ market. Participating seniors receive 10 vouchers each worth $5 to exchange for produce with authorized farmers.

Important Dates:

Program operates: May 1 - October 31
Vouchers issued: May 1 - August 31
Vouchers redeemed: May 1 - September 30

To be authorized, farmers must:

  • Live and grow in Missouri
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Grow at least 50 percent of what is sold at the farmers market
  • Attend annual training provided by the Missouri Department of Agriculture

Farmers must also sell in at least one of the following counties:
