Juniper Gardens Training Farm is a 7.5 acre site just minutes from downtown Kansas City, KS and right across the river from Kansas City, MO. This property is the home of the New Roots farm training and business incubation program. Juniper Gardens also has a large staff-managed Demonstration Plot for learning and teaching opportunities.
The New Roots program trains refugee, immigrant and English Language Learner farmers with agricultural experience to become independent farm business owners here in the Kansas City Metro.
In addition, staff at Juniper Gardens Training Farm reaches out to community and neighborhood organizations, and other service and educational agencies in the area to increase awareness of the benefits of urban agriculture and to cooperate on joint projects that benefit the local residents and the environment. The neighboring 1.5 acre property, Stowe Gardens, is home to a thriving community garden and the Diana Eisman Community Greenhouse.
