Stowe Gardens, located directly across the street from Juniper Gardens Training Farm, is a 1.5 acre property that is the home to the thriving Stowe Community Garden that primarily serves the residents of the neighboring apartment complex. Farmers in the New Roots program and residents actively interact and build community over growing veggies and flowers. Read more about the Stowe Community Garden at this post.

The property is also the home of the 6,000 square foot Diana Eisman Community Greenhouse which was completed in March of 2025. Construction continues on the large wash stand and refrigerated cooler spaces directly behind the greenhouse with an expected completion in late fall. This space serves New Roots participants and graduates, as well as nearby community growers. It’s a place for farmers to start transplants early in the spring and offers staff and growers a warmer space to meet and learn throughout the fall and winter.

The greenhouse and washstand project would not have been possible without our hardworking build team, community help, and funding from C2FO, the Bloch Family Foundation, William Jewell College, the Tantillo Family Foundation, USDA, Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, Catholic Charities USA, American Farmland Trust, Church of the Resurrection, and Evergy.
