The Midwestern Urban Farming Movement at Heritage Radio Network
Len Jurden is our go-to legal guy. He’s been a longtime supporter but became more active when we needed assistance a few years ago with farm leases. He’s serves on our Land & Facilities committee and joined our Board of Directors in 2019. Len is drawn to our mission because he likes knowing that by supporting Cultivate KC, he’s getting healthy food to people in need, growing the local food system, expanding access to healthy foods, and helping new members of our community settle in.
A little about Len- He’s a KC native and an empty nester. When he isn’t working in finance, assisting his wife with her business Modigliani, or helping us out, he likes to spend time with friends, walk his dogs, and in his own words “occasionally try to hit golf balls!”
He loves the City Market for its diversity and selection and says it’s hard to pick a favorite veggie. In the summer it’s a great tomato, alone or with basil, good olive oil and vinegar or on a BLT. In the winter it’s brussels sprouts roasted with garlic and onions.
Len, we’re so thankful you’ve chosen to serve us. Without you, we couldn’t serve others in Kansas City.
